Claims Analysis

Total Claims: 6
Claim 1
Independent Claim 84 words
An industrial robot hand-holding device including a hand-holding unit attached to the extremity of a robot wrist or robot arm of the industrial robot and a hand-attaching unit having mounted thereon a robot hand and being attached to the hand-holding unit, wherein said hand-holding device is provided with a safeguard means arranged between said extremity of said robot wrist or robot arm and said hand--holding unit so as to effect a safeguarding action in response to an abnormal force applied to said robot hand.
Claim 2
Dependent Claim 84 words
An industrial robot hand-holding device including a hand-holding unit attached to the extremity of a robot wrist or robot arm of the industrial robot and a hand-attaching unit having mounted thereon a robot hand and being attached to the hand-holding unit, wherein said hand-holding device is provided with a safeguard means arranged between said extremity of said robot wrist or robot arm and said hand--holding unit so as to effect a safeguarding action in response to an abnormal force applied to said robot hand.
Claim 3
Dependent Claim 91 words
A hand-holding device according to claim 1, wherein said safeguard means comprises: a safeguard joint means having two opposite ends, one being connected to said extremity of said robot wrist or robot arm and the other being connected to said hand-holding unit, and a dimensionally narrowed part predesigned to be mechanically broken when said abnormal force reaches a predetermined magnitude; and at least one safeguard plate member arranged adjacent to said dimensionally narrowed part so as to prevent separation of said safeguard joint means when said dimensionally narrowed part is broken.
Claim 4
Dependent Claim 44 words
A hand-holding device according to claim 2, wherein said safeguard means further comprises means for sensing mechanical stress acting on said dimensionally narrowed part of said safeguard joint means, said sensing means issuing an electrical signal proportional to the magnitude of said mechanical stress.
Claim 5
Dependent Claim 48 words
A hand-holding device according to claim 2, wherein said safeguard means further comprises means for detecting mechanical breakage of said dimensionally narrowed part of said safeguard joint means, said means for detecting mechanical breakage issuing an electrical signal upon detection of mechanical breakage of said dimensionally narrowed part.
Claim 6
Dependent Claim 87 words
A hand-holding device according to claim 2, wherein said safeguard joint means comprises a pair of right-angled joint members connected together by screw means, one of said pair of right-angled joint members being connected to said extremity of said robot wrist or said robot arm and the other of said pair of right-angled joint members being connected to said hand-holding unit, and wherein one of said pair of right-angled joint members is formed with a pair of oppositely extending recesses which define therebetween said dimensionally narrowed part.
