Abstract

Abstract The structure (16) for mounting an electronic apparatus (11) comprises a pair of opposed side members (20) each having front and rear ends for guiding the apparatus (11) between the front and rear ends of the structure. A rear member (21) has a coupling element (17) for establishing an electrical connection with the electronic apparatus (11). To make the apparatus retractable with a minimum of effort, the rear member (21) is arranged to movably engage the side members (20) so that when the apparatus (11) is retracted forward the rear member (21), the rear member (21) is also moved with the apparatus (11) over a predetermined distance (L). Thus the apparatus (11) can be firmly gripped for further removal with a greater force to disengage the coupling elements (17, 12) from each other (Figure 2).

Claims Analysis

Total Claims: 8
Claim 1
Independent Claim 148 words
A structure for mounting an apparatus (11, 31) having a pair of opposite sides and front and rear ends and a coupling element (12, 37a) on the rear end, comprising a) a pair of opposed side members (20, 40) having front and rear ends and slidably engageable with the sides of said apparatus (11, 31) to permit the apparatus to be inserted to and retracted from said structure (16, 36) b) and a rear member (21, 44)having a coupling element (17, 37b) for engaging with the coupling element (12, 37a) of said apparatus (11) when the apparatus is inserted c) said rear member (21, 44) being in movable engagement with said side members (20, 40) in a position adjacent to the rear ends thereof so that the rear member (21, 44) is movable forward over a distance (L) smaller than the length of said side members (20, 40).
Claim 2
Dependent Claim 148 words
Claim 3
Dependent Claim 68 words
A structure as claimed in claim 1, wherein each of said side members (40) is formed with a guide path -(43) extending from the rear end thereof over said predetermined distance (L), and said movable rear member (44) comprises a pair of opposed limb portions (44a) slidably engaging said guide paths (43) of said side members (40) and a web portion (44b) extending between said limb portions (44a).
Claim 4
Dependent Claim 26 words
A structure as claimed in claim 2, wherein each of said limb portions (44a) is formed with a groove for slidably engaging said guide path (43).
Claim 5
Dependent Claim 93 words
A structure as claimed in any of claims 1 to 3, wherein a) each of said side members (40) is provided with a smaller width portion adjacent to the rear end thereof to define a pair of opposite guide edges (43), b) said movable rear member (44) comprises a pair of opposed limb portions (44a) and a web portion (44b) extending between said limb portions (44a) and wherein c) each of said limb portions (44a) has a pair of flanges (44c) engaging said guide edges (43) of each of said side members (40).
Claim 6
Dependent Claim 45 words
A structure as claimed in any of claims 1 to 4, further comprising a second rear member (47) securely fixed to the rear ends of said side members (40), said movable rear member (44) being movable fromsaid second rear member (47) by said distance (L).
Claim 7
Dependent Claim 25 words
A structure as claimed in claim 5, further comprising spring means (51) secured between said second rear member (47) and said movable rear member (44).
Claim 8
Dependent Claim 30 words
A structure as claimed in any of claims 1 to 6, further comprising means (14, 15; 34, 35, 39) for locking said apparatus (11, 31) in said structure (16, 36).
