Reciprorating piston internal-combustion engine
Abstract
Abstract The engine has a piston assembly (24) of a divided sliding piston part (3) and an outer hollow sphere (2) which is pivotably supported in a first hemisphere (38) of the sliding piston part (3). The hollow sphere (2) is attached to the connecting rod (4) and contains an inner hollow sphere (1) which encloses an inner combustion chamber (26). The inner combustion chamber (26) is permanently connected to an outer combustion chamber (25) by means of a jet nozzle (5), which is coaxial to the connecting rod (4) and penetrates both hollow spheres (1, 2). Filling ducts (6) penetrating the hollow spheres (1, 2) improve the filling of the inner combustion chamber (26). An intermediate space (7) between the hollow spheres (1, 2) can be loaded with a vaporisable fluid. Controlled by the sliding piston part (3), the vapour flows through jet nozzles (12) parallel to the connecting rod (4) into the crankcase (27). <IMAGE>
