Contact piece for an electric switch apparatus, in particular for a protective switch
Abstract
Abstract An oblong, plate-shaped power supply piece (2) has a contact support (5) on its one side. An arc guide piece (6), of ferro-magnetic material, is connected to the latter. The one limb (6a) of the L-shaped arc guide piece (6) abuts against the power supply piece (2) and is connected thereto by means of rivets (9). An intermediate layer (7) of an electrically insulating material, e.g. a small plate of mica, is arranged between this limb (6a) and the power supply piece (2). The limb (6a) embraces the contact support (5) on the side, by means of which, an arc which occurs when the contact is opened can be rapidly transferred from the contact support (5) onto the arc guide piece (6). Despite the compact construction and low installed height of the contact piece (1), a magnetic self-blasting effect is generated by means of which the arc is driven away over the arc guide piece (6) from the contact support (5). <IMAGE>
