Claims Analysis

Total Claims: 10
Claim 1
Independent Claim 142 words
An arrangement for discharging liquid droplets comprising a housing (11; 71) including a forwardly opening chamber (12; 72) for holding liquid therein having an intake port (17; 77) to be connected to a liquid supply container (42; 79), a vibrating member (13; 73) secured to a forward end of said housing defining a front wall of said chamber in rearwardly pressure transmitting relationship with the liquid in said chamber and having at least one nozzle opening (13b; 73a) therein, means (18, 31, 32, 33, 34, 36) for maintaining the static pressure of said liquid in said chamber equal to or lower than the static pressure forwardly of said nozzle opening, and a piezoelectric transducer (14; 74) secured to said vibrating member for inducing therein a rearward displacement to cause a small quantity of liquid to be discharged forwardly through said nozzle opening.
Claim 2
Dependent Claim 142 words
Claim 3
Dependent Claim 47 words
An arrangement as claimed in claim 1, characterized in that said piezoelectric transducer (14, 74) is formed with an aperture and is electrically polarized in the direction of thickness, and in that said nozzle opening (13b, 73a) is coaxial with the aperture of said transducer (14, 74).
Claim 4
Dependent Claim 19 words
An arrangement as claimed in claim 2, characterized in that said transducer (14) has the shape of a. ring.
Claim 5
Dependent Claim 41 words
An arrangement as claimed in claim 1 or 2, characterized in that said vibrating member (13) has a portion (13a) curved forwardly of said housing and in that the curved portion (13a) is formed with a plurality of said nozzle openings.
Claim 6
Dependent Claim 36 words
An arrangement as claimed in claim 1, 2, or 4, characterized in that said pressure maintaining means comprises a vacuum chamber (31, 32) and means (33, 34, 36) for creating a vacuum in said vacuum chamber.
Claim 7
Dependent Claim 50 words
An arrangement as claimed in any one of the preceding claims, characterized in that said chamber (12) is generally in the shape of a cone with the apex of the cone being connected to said liquid supply container and said vibrating member is located on the base of the cone.
Claim 8
Dependent Claim 72 words
An arrangement as claimed in any one of the preceding claims, characterized in that said chamber (12) is generally in the shape of a frustum of a cone with the base of the cone located rearwardly of the housing and the apex of the cone being defined by said vibrating member, and in that said intake port (17) and said second port (18) are located adjacent to the rear of said housing.
Claim 9
Dependent Claim 54 words
An arrangement as claimed in any one of the preceding claims, characterized in that said housing is located at such a position with respect to said liquid supply container (79) that the static pressure in said chamber (72) is equal to or lower than the static pressure in front of said nozzle opening (73a).
Claim 10
Dependent Claim 44 words
An arrangement as claimed in any one of the preceding claims, characterized by means (51, 52; 80, 81) for generating an ultrasonic frequency burst signal having a duration which is a function of a control signal applied thereto for stimulating said transducer (14, 74).
