Apparatus for nuclear spin tomography
Abstract
The invention relates to nuclear spin tomography methods with complete measurement of all two-dimensional Fourier components of a nuclear spin property and image reconstruction. In spite of the inevitable inhomogeneities of the constant magnetic field, an optimal cross-sectional image should be obtained. For this purpose, the invention provides an optimally short pulse sequence, in that a z = const layer is first excited by means of a 90 ° HF pulse (31) when the z gradient (30) is switched on, and after its termination an x gradient (35, 36 ) and a y gradient (40) can be switched on at the same time. This is followed by a 180 ° HF pulse (32), which is followed by a z and a y gradient at the same time, so that the difference between the y gradient effect (40) before the 180 ° HF pulse (32) and after that (41, 42) can be varied. Now follows the x gradient (37 to 39), during which the nuclear spin echo is measured, which arises at a fixed point in time as the center of symmetry. For an N x N image (N = number of pixels e.g. 128 in one line), N such processes are measured with different differences in the y-gradient effects. The method according to the invention can be used in particular in medical diagnostics (test matography).
