Medical and sporting training apparatus for the joints, the heart and the blood circulation
Abstract
Abstract The object of the training apparatus, which is fitted with a holding strap (11), is to allow an imitation of going up and down stairs, walking uphill and downhill, jogging and, using an attachable additional apparatus (Figure 4), also cycling. Two footrests (8, 9), on which the person exercising can stand upright, are arranged so as to swivel up and down in opposite phases about a common pivot point (4). By the alternating lifting of the body weight onto the footrest which is situated in each case in the upper end position, the abovementioned types of exercise can be imitated with corresponding physical performance requirements. The two footrests (8, 9) are forcibly connected in respect of their movement sequences by a hydraulic system provided with a control unit (13). The downward swivelling of the footrest situated in the upper end position inevitably causes the upward swivelling of the footrest situated in the lower end position. The point in time at which the downward swivelling occurs and the downward speed of the loaded footrest in each case is predetermined by the respective control positions of the relevant controls (D1, D2, D3, D4) of the hydraulic control unit (13). <IMAGE>
