Abstract

Filter for liquids with filter element consisting of a granular material placed in an enclosure open upwards on a support floor provided at a certain distance from the bottom of the enclosure and delimiting with this bottom a chamber in which the filtered liquid is collected by nozzles of two kinds embedded in the filter material and whose tails are provided with slots and orifices, the liquid to be treated flowing from top to bottom being brought into contact with a gas flowing from bottom to top of the material granular, which is backwashed with water and air, this filter being characterized in that the two kinds of nozzles (A) and (B) simultaneously ensure the collection (A-14) of the liquid filtered in the chamber (a) delimited between the support floor (1) of the granular material (3) and the bottom of the enclosure, the others (B-13) the distribution of gas from bottom to top through the material granular, both ensuring together during the phase of backwash the distribution of washing water and air.
