Claims Analysis

Total Claims: 9
Claim 1
Independent Claim 87 words
A substantially anhydrous cell comprising (a) a cathode which comprises a mixture of polyacetylene powder and an electrically conductive material, (b) an organic solvent, (c) an electrolyte comprising a salt which is soluble in said solvent and (d) an inorganic intercalating anode, said cathode being insoluble in said solvent when said cathode is either undoped or p-doped, said solvent being stable to electrochemical decomposition and the anions of said salt being capable of p-doping said polyacetylene when an external electrical power source is supplied to said cell.
Claim 2
Dependent Claim 87 words
A substantially anhydrous cell comprising (a) a cathode which comprises a mixture of polyacetylene powder and an electrically conductive material, (b) an organic solvent, (c) an electrolyte comprising a salt which is soluble in said solvent and (d) an inorganic intercalating anode, said cathode being insoluble in said solvent when said cathode is either undoped or p-doped, said solvent being stable to electrochemical decomposition and the anions of said salt being capable of p-doping said polyacetylene when an external electrical power source is supplied to said cell.
Claim 3
Dependent Claim 23 words
.A cell according to claim 1 wherein the anode has a potential less than +1.3V with respect to Li + /Li o .
Claim 4
Dependent Claim 15 words
A cell according to Claim 1 or 2 wherein the electrolyte comprises a.salt of lithium.
Claim 5
Dependent Claim 23 words
A cell according to any preceding claim wherein the said inorganic intercalating anode contains tungsten dioxide, titanium disulfide, vanadium diseleriide and/or vanadium disulfide.
Claim 6
Dependent Claim 14 words
A cell according to any preceding claim wherein the electrically conductive material comprises carbon.
Claim 7
Dependent Claim 32 words
A cell according to any preceding claim wherein the electrically conductive material is present in an amount of from about 3% to about 75% based on the total weight of the cathode.
Claim 8
Dependent Claim 16 words
. A cell according to any preceding claim wherein the inorganic intercalating anode intercalates lithium ions.
Claim 9
Dependent Claim 16 words
