Abstract
Abstract Aretractor (13) of a safety belt system mounted on a seat (1) directly involving lap belt section (8). An attachment buckle (7) is connected to its anchor point (10) by an expandable link device (11), which normally permits a degree of movement of buckle (7) away from anchor point (10) or towards the latter (for example by means of a return spring), but is provided with means to oppose the extraction of the buckle (7) under predetermined conditions of acceleration of the vehicle and or of the belt.

Claims Analysis
Total Claims: 11
Claim 1
Independent Claim
83 words
Safety belt system, designed to retain an occupant on a vehicle seat, comprising a length of seat belt; a retractor connected to one end of the belt; and an attachment buckle linked to an anchor point and designed to cooperate with an attachment latch fitting mounted on the belt and normally defining for the belt a lap belt section and a shoulder belt section, characterized in that the attachment buckle (7) is connected to anchor point (10) by an expandable link device (11).
Claim 2
Dependent Claim
Claim 3
Dependent Claim
30 words
Safety belt system according to claim 1, characterized in that the retractor (13) is connected to the end (12) of the lap belt section (8) opposite the latch fitting (6).
Claim 4
Dependent Claim
40 words
Safety belt system according to claim 2, characterized in that the retractor (13) is mounted on a structure integral with the chassis of the vehicle at a level no higher than the seat cushion surface (14) of the seat (1).
Claim 5
Dependent Claim
50 words
Safety belt system according to one of the preceding claims, charaterized in that the link device (11) comprises a means (24; 30; 33, 35) to oppose the separation of the buckle (7) relative to the anchor point (10) under predetermined conditions of acceleration of the vehicle and/or of the belt.
Claim 6
Dependent Claim
32 words
Safety belt system according to one of the preceding claims, characterized in that the link device (11) comprises means of return (22; 33,35) of the buckle (7) toward the anchor point (10).
Claim 7
Dependent Claim
51 words
Safety belt system according to one of the preceding claims, characterized in that the attachment buckle (7) is integral with a rod (21) received and guided in a fixed shell (19) of the link device (11) in order to be displaceable longitudinally in the two opposite directions relative to this shell.
Claim 8
Dependent Claim
30 words
Safety belt system according to claim 6, characterized in that the rod (21) is urged elastically toward the anchor point provided at the outer end (20) of the shell (19).
Claim 9
Dependent Claim
49 words
Safety belt system according to claim 7, characterized in that the link device (11) comprises an inertial member (25) which can bring a locking pawl (24) into engagement with locking teeth (23) provided on rod (21) to oppose a displacement of the latter away from the anchor point (10).
Claim 10
Dependent Claim
45 words
Safety belt system according to claim 7, characterized in that the rod (21) is integral with a piston (27) sliding in a cavity (28) in shell (19) forming a cylinder and filled with a fluid, the piston comprising through openings (30) to throttle the fluid.
Claim 11
Dependent Claim
44 words
Safety belt system according to claim 7, characterized in that the rod (21) comprises a longitudinal rack (31) engaging with a worm gear (32) entrained by a reversible electric motor (33) controlled by a tension detector (35) on one section (9) of the belt.
