Method of producing poly(arylene sulfides)

Abstract

Abstract Translated from German Herstellung hochmolekularer p-Polyarylensulfide in polaren Lösungsmitteln in Anwesenheit bestimmter Mengen von N,N-Dialkylcarbonsäureamiden. Die erhaltenen p-Polyarylensulfide besitzen ohne thermische Nachhärtung eine hohe Schmelzviskosität, sind thermoplastisch verarbeitbar, und zeichnen sich durch gute mechanische Eigenschaften aus. Production of high molecular weight p-polyarylene sulfides in polar solvents in the presence of certain amounts of N, N-dialkylcarboxamides. The p-polyarylene sulfides obtained have a high melt viscosity without thermal post-curing, can be processed thermoplastically, and are notable for good mechanical properties.
