Abstract

The invention relates to a thyristor with controllable emitter short circuits (M1) designed as MIS structures. Among them is at least one stabilization short circuit which is only deactivated during the ignition process and at least one extinguishing short circuit which is activated only during the extinguishing. A simple and easy to manufacture embodiment of such a thyristor is achieved in that each MIS structure (M1) has an n (p.) Inserted into the p (n) base layer (2) at a distance from the n (p) emitter (1) ) -Short-circuit region (7), which is connected to the p (n) base layer (2) via a conductive covering (16). The field of application of the thyristor includes power semiconductor technology.
