Abstract

The invention relates to a light-ignitable thyristor with gate-controlled MIS structures (M1) which contain emitter short-circuit paths. These are effective in the blocking state (stabilization short-circuits) and are deactivated during the ignition process. The aim here is simple optoelectronic control for the MIS structures (M1). According to the invention, the required ignition energy is supplied to the thyristor via an optical fiber (20), an optical fiber (23) branching from it leading to an optoelectronic converter (24) with a series connection of semiconductor photodiodes (FD), via its output ( G) the control takes place.
