Abstract
Abstract An optical disk apparatus has a detector (23) for detecting absence of an optical disk (1) in a prescribed position, a detection circuit (33) for detecting non-rotation of the disk (1) and an AND circuit for producing a logical product of the outputs from the detector (23) and a detection circuit (33). The detector (23) comprises a light-emitting diode and a light-receiving element. An output signal from the AND circuit (35) is supplied to a beam source driver/control circuit (21), thereby turning off a beam source.
