Optical interferometer device with phase conjugation mirror, especially for a laser gyrometer
Abstract
A laser radiation RL arrives on a separating plate S, after which a first part of the radiation is applied to an optical fiber T1 wound N times on itself, to result in a phase conjugation mirror which returns the radiation in the same fiber optical. The other part of the radiation reflected by the blade S travels on its side in an optical fiber defining another optical path T2, very close to the first, and wound in the opposite direction over N turns, to lead to the same phase conjugation mirror, or to another mirror of the same kind, which likewise returns the incident wave through the same optical fiber T2. The interference state detected at the separating plate S by a detector D is representative of a possible rotation of the gyrometer. The MCP phase conjugation mirror or mirrors are advantageously defined by optically non-linear media, excited by two plane pump waves OP + and OP-, traveling in the opposite direction in a collinear manner.
