Suivant le procédé de gestion chaque station du réseau reçoit successivement un droit à émettre un message sur un canal où transitent les messages. Ce droit à émettre est accordé à une station lorsque la propre adresse de cette station est indiqué par l'indicateur d'adresses de cette même station. L'émission d'un message par la station qui a le droit à émettre fait avancer les indicateurs d'adresses de toutes les stations donnant ainsi le droit à émettre à une prochaine station. Si une station reste silencieuse lorsqu'elle a le droit à émettre la station pilote se substitue à elle. Le procédé concerne aussi la détection d'erreurs et la récupération de messages érronés.
