Abstract

Abstract When testing the wiring of printed boards, it is advantageous to have a universal test device available for different nonequipped printed boards, the aim being to convert quickly and without difficulty to the particular type to be tested. For this purpose, an adaptor device is provided, which has an intermediate frame (1) situated between a movable pressure plate (2) and a movable printed board receptacle (6) and contains on the side in a fixed grid wrapping pins (14) for contacting with adaptor needles (12) of a stationary adaptor needle field and test adaptor needles (13) centrally fastened to wrapping pins (15), two types of wrapping pins (14, 15) being connected in accordance with the test requirements by means of a wire-wrap technique (10). The test process is carried out by firstly pressing the lateral wrapping pins (14) of the intermediate frame (1) against the test adaptor needles (13) by lowering the intermediate frame with the adaptor needles (12) of the standard adaptor needle field (8), and subsequently pressing the test points on the printed board under test (7) against the test adaptor needles by a lifting action, so that test connections are produced with automatic test equipment. The adaptor device is particularly suitable for testing printed boards in data systems technology. <IMAGE>
