Abstract

Abstract Double hands for an industrial robot, which have two hand units (2, 3) including at least a pair of fingers (2-1; 2-2; 3-1; 3-2) and plate members (2-3, 3-3) for a push unit (4) provided in parallel with the fingers in a holding center axial direction of the fingers in such a manner that the holding center axes coincide, the plate members (2-3, 3-3) confront one another, and the opening sides of the fingers are directed to opposite sides by connecting them through a pushing mechanism (4). A work passing hole (6) having a center at the holding center axis is provided at the members (2-3, 3-3) of the hand units (2, 3) to freely move with respect to the work held by the hand units (2, 3) of the double hands along the holding axis.

Claims Analysis

Total Claims: 3
Claim 1
Independent Claim 146 words
A double hand with a through hole, comprising two hand units, each hand unit comprising at least a pair of fingers and a plate member of a pressing unit disposed in parallel with said fingers along the gripping center axis of said fingers, said two hand units being connected through a pressing mechanism in a manner that the respective gripping center axis of said two hand units are in alignment, the respective plate members of said pressing unit are disposed opposite to each other and the opening sides of the respective pairs of fingers of said two hand units are directed in opposite directions to each other, wherein an opening allowing a workpiece to penetrate through said plate members is provided for the plate member of said pressing unit attached to each hand unit coaxially with the respective gripping center axis of said two hand units.
Claim 2
Dependent Claim 146 words
Claim 3
Dependent Claim 55 words
A double hand with a through hole, as set forth in claim 1, wherein each of said plate members of said pressing unit comprises a base section, a front end section and two connecting sections which are integrated into a single piece surrounding said opening for allowing a workpiece to penetrate through said plate members.
