Abstract
Abstract The material comprises a substrate (1) and a metallic recording layer (2). The metallic recording layer (2) comprises a film of bismuth containing at least one rare earth element. The information recording material exhibits a remarkably increased sensitivity while maintaining a high S/N ratio. Where the information recording material further comprises one or more stabilizing layers (3, 4) of a metal oxide and/or one or more mixture layers (5, 6) of a metal compound and a metal, further improvements can be attained with respect to S/N ratio, storage stability and archivability.
