Abstract

Abstract A hard endoscope which can be removably fitted with a photographing device in the eyepiece part and by which, for example, a body cavity in which it is inserted can be observed and photographed is disclosed. In the case of taking a photograph with a hard endoscope fitted with a photographing device in the eyepiece part, if the optical axis of the hard endoscope and the optical axis of the photographing device do not coincide with each other and are eccentric from each other, the image obtained in the photographing device will differ from that seen by the endoscope. Therefore, the hard endoscope of this invention is provided in the eyepiece part with an eccentricity controlling means which can center the optical axis of the hard endoscope to coincide with the optical axis of the photographing device.

Claims Analysis

Total Claims: 6
Claim 1
Independent Claim 131 words
A hard endoscope having a relay lens optical system to transmit an observed image to an eyepiece to which a camera may be fitted by means of an adaptor, charac terised in that said eyepiece is provided with eccentricity correction means for displacing the centre of a camera adaptor when fitted to engage the outer periphery of the eyepiece so as to make the optical axis of the fitted camera substantially coincide with the optical axis of the observing optical system of the hard endoscope, in any case where the optical axis of the fitted camera and the optical axis of the observing optical system of the hard endoscope do not coincide so as to standardise the endoscope and so minimise or eliminate the effects of eccentricity between the optical axes.
Claim 2
Dependent Claim 131 words
Claim 3
Dependent Claim 49 words
A hard endoscope according to claim 1, characterised in that said eccentricity correcting means comprises an eccentric centering ring rotatable between an inner peripheral member and the outer periphery of the eyepiece which engages the adaptor of a fitted camera, and clamping.means for securing the eccentric ring, when adjusted.
Claim 4
Dependent Claim 36 words
A hard endoscope according to claim 1, characterised in that said eccentricity correcting means comprises an eccentric ring rotatable about the outer periphery of the eyepiece, and clamping means for securing the eccentric ring, when adjusted,
Claim 5
Dependent Claim 29 words
4, A hard endoscope according to claim 1, characterised in that said eccentricity correcting means comprises a plurality of adjustable projections disposed evenly around the periphery of the eyepiece.
Claim 6
Dependent Claim 41 words
A hard endoscope according to claim 1, characterised in that said eccentricity correcting means comprises an eccentric ring rotatably fitted to the inner periphery of an eccentric eyepiece ring, and respective clamping means for securing each said eccentric ring, when adjusted.
