Abstract

Abstract A common controlled facsimile system with a simple facsimile terminal having merely means (21) for converting picture data to electrical signal, and means (22) for reproducing picture image from said electrical signal has been found. That facsimile terminal is controlled commonly by a common control system which has a disk memory (39) with large capacity. A picture image generated by a first facsimile terminal is first stored in the disk memory (39) of the common control system, and then, that picture image in the disk memory (39) is transferred to another facsimile terminal. That common control system functions also to convert a coded data to a picture image, and to edit or correct a picture image. Further, that common control system functions to convert the facsimile technical standard, thus, a facsimile communication between different standard terminals is possible. The present invention enables to provide a personal facsimile terminal to each person in an office, like a personal telephone set at present.

Claims Analysis

Total Claims: 6
Claim 1
Independent Claim 181 words
(1) A common controlled facsimile system comprising a plurality of facsimile terminals (35a) each having means (21) for converting a picture pattern of an original document to a scanned electrical signal, and means (22) for printing a scanned electrical signal on a paper, a facsimile common control system coupled with said plurality of facsimile terminals (35a), having at least a switching exchange network (33) for exchanging said facsimile terminals (35a), a magnetic disk memory (39) for storing a picture image of a facsimile signal, a buffer memory (37, 37a, 41, 51) for storing a part of facsimile signal when that facsimile signal is stored on and read-out from said disk memory (39), and means for controlling operation of said facsimile terminals, wherein a picture image generated by one of said facsimile terminals is stored in said disk memory through said-switching exchange network (33), and said buffer memory, and the stored picture image in said disk memory is transferred to a designated facsimile terminal through said buffer memory and said switching exchange network to reproduce an image to said designated facsimile terminal.
Claim 2
Dependent Claim 88 words
(2) A common controlled facsimile system according to claim 1, further comprising another terminal (75) having a key board coupled with said facsimile common control, and said facsimile common control further comprises a modem (61, 61a) for coupling said another key board terminal (75), with the disk memory (39), and a character generator (60), wherein a coded data generated by said key board terminal (75) is converted to a picture image by said character generator (60), and a converted picture image is stored in the disk memory (39).
Claim 3
Dependent Claim 54 words
(3) A common controlled facsimile system according to claim 1, said key board terminal has an indicator (77) for showing the location of each character, and correction and revision of a character in said disk memory is accomplished by providing a new character from said key board terminal with the indication by said indicator.
Claim 4
Dependent Claim 54 words
(4) A common controlled facsimile system according to claim 1, wherein said facsimile common control system further comprises means (40a) for compressing a picture signal and means (50a) for reproducing an original picture signal from the compressed picture signal, wherein a picture signal is stored in the disk memory (39) in a compressed form.
Claim 5
Dependent Claim 39 words
(5) A common controlled facsimile system according to claim 1, wherein said switching exchange network (33) is coupled with an external telephone channel, and extension telephone terminals, to provide an exchange function among telephone terminals and external telephone channels.
Claim 6
Dependent Claim 38 words
(6) A common controlled facsimile system according to claim 1, said facsimile terminals have a scanning head (21, 22) which moves in a horizontal direction, and said head scans a plurality of cells simultaneously in a vertical line.
