Abstract

A continuously operating press for producing and / or coating, veneering or the like of a single-layer or multi-layer panel web made of a wood shavings, wood fibers or the like has a nonwoven, preferably an upper strand of a lower and a lower strand of an upper endless belt rotating at a predetermined speed Steel, wherein a sliding covering, which extends over the entire width of the pressing area and is provided on an upper and lower abutment, is provided, over which the incoming belt slides with the aid of a pressurized and liquid lubricant. The sliding covering 13 extends at least over the main pressing region and the calibration region 12, in which the upper and lower sliding covering 13 run parallel to one another. The two sliding pads 13 of the pre-pressing area are continuously curved to form the press nip. The lubricant is supplied to the sliding surface of the sliding lining through openings 22 provided therein, which do not extend to the lateral boundary of the sliding lining.
