Abstract
Abstract The field effect liquid crystal display permits direct current operation, has a simplified design and contains in the liquid crystals from 0.01 to 1% by weight of a nonionic, oxidisable or reducible electron donor-acceptor complex whose oxidation and reduction take place within a potential range which lies within the potential range for the oxidation and reduction of the liquid crystal. The display is suitable in particular also for multiplex service. <IMAGE>
