Abstract
Abstract In a joint prosthesis the alloplastic joint surface substitute (2, 4) extends over only part of the total joint surface. If both joint parts are to be substituted by alloplastic means, the implants (2, 4) intended to slide upon one another are designed in such a way that they at least partially overlap one another in all positions of the joint in which load movement can occur. <IMAGE>
