Abstract
Abstract An asymmetric woven wire mesh current distributor (5) for an electrode (2) contains more conductive elements or portions (8) in one direction than (9) in the other direction when installed in use in an electrode so that the greater number of wires (8) is perpendicular to the major current feeder bars and span the narrow part (conductive path) of the rectangular air cathode (2). Preferably, the current distributor is a woven wire mesh wherein the ratio between the number of the perpendicular wires (8) to the parallel wires (9) ranges from about 1.5 to 3:1.

Claims Analysis
Total Claims: 4
Claim 1
Independent Claim
45 words
An asymmetric woven wire mesh current distributor for an electrode, characterized by having more conductive wire strands in the direction generally perpendicular to the direction of major current feed to the distributor than in the direction generally parallel to the direction of major current feed.
Claim 2
Dependent Claim
45 words
An asymmetric woven wire mesh current distributor for an electrode, characterized by having more conductive wire strands in the direction generally perpendicular to the direction of major current feed to the distributor than in the direction generally parallel to the direction of major current feed.
Claim 3
Dependent Claim
22 words
A current distributor as claimed in claim 1, wherein the generally perpendicular wire strands span the shorter conductive path of the electrode.
Claim 4
Dependent Claim
32 words
A current distributor as claimed in claim 1 or 2, wherein the ratio of the generally perpendicular wires to the generally horizontal wires is in the range from about 1.5 to 3:1.
