Abstract
Abstract Compounds of formula (I): wherein: R 1 represents a hydrogen atom or a methyl group; and R 2 represents a C 1 -C 5 alkyl or alkoxv group; and pharmaceutically acceptable acid addition salts thereof are valuable antibiotics suitable for oral administration. They may be prepared by reacting a compound of formula (II) (wherein X represents a halogen atom and R 1 and R 2 are as defined above) with thiourea.
