Abstract

Such devices consist of a metering device that is portable or preferably implantable in the body, which has a delivery unit for metered delivery of the liquid from a reservoir ter to the outflow opening of a catheter and an associated operating circuit, and an external control and programming device. The operating circuit in the dosing device and the control circuit in the control device can be inductively coupled for operational signal transmission, for which purpose there is at least one transmitting coil in the control device and at least one receiving coil in the dosing device. The aim of the invention is to ensure the greatest possible patient safety in implanted devices. According to the invention, means for function monitoring of operating parameters of the dosing device (2) are provided, for which purpose at least the dosing device (2) has a transmitter (10, 46, 47), the signals of which are received in a receiver (52, 53) outside the patient's body (1) can be evaluated if necessary. In addition to pure function monitoring, it is also possible to acknowledge signals and continue to report the value of one or more operating parameters.
