Abstract

Abstract A stimulator system, comprising a pulse generator (2) driven by a rechargeable battery (3), which is adapted so that it generates pulses, transmissible to an electric support (1), for the stimulation of a muscle, nerve or the like, the electrode support (1) being adapted so as to be connected to the rest of the system via two points of contact (6,7) which can be connected altematively to a charging set (5) for the charging of the battery (3). Means (R,, C 1 , T) are provided to prevent the transmission of stimulating pulses from the said points of contact (6,7) to the battery (3) via a lead arranged in between intended only for charging.

Total Claims: 5
Claim 1
Independent Claim 145 words
1 . A stimulator system comprising a pulse generator (2) driven by a rechargeable battery (3) which is adapted so that it generates pulses, transmissible to an electrode support (1), for the stimulation of a muscle, nerve or the like, the electrode support (1) being adapted so as to be connected to the rest of the system via two points of contact (6,7), characterized in that the aforementioned two points of contact (6,7) are adapted so that they can be connected alternatively to a charging set (5) or the like for the charging of the battery (3), means (R 1 , C 1 , T) being provided to prevent the transmission of stimulating pulses from the said points of contact (6,7) to the battery (3) via a lead arranged in between for the transmission of energy from the charging set (5) to the battery (3).
Claim 2
Dependent Claim 145 words
Claim 3
Dependent Claim 52 words
. A stimulator system in accordance with claim 1, characterized by a resistor (R l ) and a voltage-dependent element, e.g. a transistor (T) arranged in the said transmission lead together with a capacitor (C l ) so co-ordinated with this element that the voltage-dependent element (T) remains non-conductive during pulse generation.
Claim 4
Dependent Claim 48 words
A stimulator system in accordance with claim 1 or 2, character- ized in that the system, apart from the electrode support (1) and the charging set (5) is enclosed in a tight housing with a single outlet which is common for the electrode support and the charging set.
Claim 5
Dependent Claim 45 words
A stimulator system in accordance with claim 2 or 3, character- ized by a rectifier (D 1 ) connected between the battery and the voltage-dependent element (T) to prevent any direct effect upon this element (T) or the electrode support (1) from the battery (3)
