Method for the recuperation of waste heat and apparatus for carrying out the method
Abstract
Abstract The heat exchanger for utilising the waste heat of flue gases has a cylindrical housing (1) with two coaxial helical coils (3) through which a heat transfer fluid flows. The heat transfer fluid is circulated by a pump (15) which is controlled by a switch (16) which is, in turn, actuated by a temperature sensor (19) which measures the temperature of the flue gases. The system is arranged so that the pump is inoperative below a predetermined temperature of flue gases. Once this temperature is reached the pump is switched on. In addition the flow of the heat transfer fluid is so controlled that it increases with increasing flue gas inlet temperature, in order to maintain a constant gas temperature at the chimney outlet.
