Abstract

According to the invention, a new, universally rationally applicable method for separating the free and antibody-bound ligand in labeled ligand immunoassay systems is described using an immuno-immobilized precipitation reagent (IIPR). This procedure combines the advantages of double antibody technology and those of solid phase methods, while avoiding their disadvantages. The low non-specific binding of the labeled ligand offers an important prerequisite for sensitive, precise assay systems. By using the new separation process, the labeled ligand immunoassays can be standardized both in the production as complete kits and in the implementation itself, whereby a significant cost reduction z. B. the radioimmunological provisions is possible.
