Abstract

Abstract A photodeflector suitable for a scanning device which comprises a plurality of groups of mirrors (3) rotatable around an axis (4), each of said groups consisting of the same number of mirrors (3) and each of said mirrors of a group (3a, 3b) being disposed so that their surfaces are inclined at the same angle in relation to said rotation axis (4) and so that the surfaces of mirrors of a given group (3a, 3b) are at a different angle in relation to said rotation axis (4) to the surfaces of mirrors of the other group or groups.

Claims Analysis

Total Claims: 7
Claim 1
Independent Claim 89 words
A photodeflector suitable for a scanning device which comprises a plurality of groups of mirrors rotatable around an axis, each of said groups consisting of the same number of mirrors and each of said mirrors of a group being disposed so that their surfaces are inclined at the same angle in relation to said rotation axis and so that the surfaces of mirrors of a given group are at a different angle in relation to said rotation axis to the surfaces of mirrors of the other group or groups.
Claim 2
Dependent Claim 89 words
A photodeflector suitable for a scanning device which comprises a plurality of groups of mirrors rotatable around an axis, each of said groups consisting of the same number of mirrors and each of said mirrors of a group being disposed so that their surfaces are inclined at the same angle in relation to said rotation axis and so that the surfaces of mirrors of a given group are at a different angle in relation to said rotation axis to the surfaces of mirrors of the other group or groups.
Claim 3
Dependent Claim 12 words
A photodeflector according to claim 1 which comprises 2 groups of mirrors.
Claim 4
Dependent Claim 37 words
A photodeflector according to claim 2 in which the mirrors of the first group are at the same angle in relation to said rotation axis but in the opposite direction as the mirrors of the second group.
Claim 5
Dependent Claim 20 words
A photodeflector according to any one of claims 1 to 3 in which each group of mirrors comprises 3 mirrors.
Claim 6
Dependent Claim 27 words
A photodeflector according to any one of claims 1 to 4 in which the mirrors of a group are at regularly spaced intervals around the rotation axis.
Claim 7
Dependent Claim 85 words
An image reading out and recording apparatus which comprises a photodeflector as claimed in any one of the preceding claims, means for projecting a light beam at said photodeflector so as to cause said photodeflector, upon rotation about said axis, to reflect the beam onto a photosensitive element or onto an original, a photodetector for recording light reflected from the original, a memory for the signals received by the photodetector and a photomodulator for modulating said light beam in response to signals from said memory.
