Abstract

Abstract An endoscope having an ultrasonic diagnosis function, comprises a distal end including an observing portion connected to a flexible tube, and provided with a view window and an illumination window formed on one surface thereof; an ultrasonic wave emitting-receiving portion located on the tip side of the observing portion aligned with the observing portion and provided with an ultrasonic oscillator having an ultrasonic wave emitting and receiving plane parallel with the view window; and a parallel moving link mechanism for moving the ultrasonic wave emitting-receiving portion such that it is moved away from the observing portion with the ultrasonic wave emitting-receiving plane kept substantially parallel with the view window.

Claims Analysis

Total Claims: 7
Claim 1
Independent Claim 158 words
An endoscope having an ultrasonic diagnosis function, comprising: a control section: a distal end; and a flexible tube connecting the control section and the distal end characterised in that said distal end (13) includes an observing portion (13a) connected to the flexible tube (14), having a first axis, and provided with a view window (17) and an illumination window (18) formed on one surface thereof parallel with said first axis; an ultrasonic wave emitting-receiving portion (13b) located on the tip side of the observing portion (13a) having a second axis aligned with the first axis and provided with an ultrasonic oscillator (24) having an ultrasonic wave emitting and receiving plane parallel with the view window (17) and the second axis; and a mechanism (21) for moving the ultrasonic wave emitting-receiving portion (13b) such that the second axis is moved away from the first axis with the ultrasonic wave emitting-receiving plane kept substantially parallel with the view window (17).
Claim 2
Dependent Claim 158 words
Claim 3
Dependent Claim 51 words
The endoscope according to claim 1, wherein the mechanism (21) for moving the ultrasonic wave emitting-receiving portion (13b) comprises a plurality of links (18) connecting the ultrasonic wave emitting-receiving portion (13b) to the observing portion (13a) and an operating member mounted to the control section (33,34) for driving said links (18).
Claim 4
Dependent Claim 42 words
The endoscope according to claim 2, wherein said links (18) are a pair of links (18) each pivoted at the ends to the observing portion (13a) and to the ultrasonic wave emitting-receiving portion (13b) to constitute a parallel moving link mechanism (21).
Claim 5
Dependent Claim 44 words
The endoscope according to claim 2, wherein said links (18) are two pairs of links (18), and each of the links forming each pair is pivoted to the side plane of each of the observing portion (13) and the ultrasonic wave emitting-receiving portion (13b).
Claim 6
Dependent Claim 52 words
The endoscope according to claim 3 or 4, wherein the observing portion (13a) is provided at the tip end portion with a smooth plane against which the link (18) abuts to maintain the ultrasonic wave emitting-receiving portion (13b) at a position at which the second axis is aligned with the first axis.
Claim 7
Dependent Claim 24 words
The endoscope according to claim 5, which further comprises a spring (35) serving to urge the link (18) to abut against the smooth plane.
