Use of zinc peroxide as oxidising agent in explosives and pyrotechnic compositions
Abstract
The present invention relates to explosive mixtures which contain zinc peroxide as the sole or partial oxidizing agent. Explosive mixtures are to be understood as pyrotechnic phrases, primary and secondary explosives. It was recognized that zinc peroxide can be used as an oxidizing agent in all explosive mixtures without the disadvantages of the peroxides previously used as an oxidizing agent. The mixtures are not sensitive to moisture and are less corrosive in a humid atmosphere than the known explosives containing peroxides. The content of zinc peroxide in ignition and ignition kits can be up to 60% by weight. The content is also in the same order of magnitude in pyrotechnic mixtures; however, it can also be up to 90% by weight.
