Process for producing carbon-enriched solid products and matching use of a kiln installation
Abstract
In waste recycling technology, there is the problem of using the energy content of the waste as far as possible and at the same time achieving environmentally friendly disposal of the waste. In contrast to conventional processes with extensive degassing or gasification or oil extraction with low or medium temperature pyrolysis or the extraction of activated carbon together with extensive degassing using medium and high temperature pyrolysis, the lowest temperature pyrolysis results in between approx. 240 and 380 ° C sufficient carbon enrichment and preservation of waste containing carbon compounds in order to obtain a solid fuel that can be stored and is suitable for domestic and industrial firing. For this purpose, direct heating and flushing of the waste with an inert heating gas is used in a continuous reactor (1) which is preferably provided with a temperature control circuit (2, 27, 28). The heating and flushing gas can advantageously be obtained by burning the pyrolysis waste gas (at 5) from the reactor (1) in a burner (6) suitable for useful heating with a downstream heat exchanger (13).
