Circuit arrangement for the synchronization of a subordinate device, in particular a digital subscriber station, by a higher order device, in particular a digital switching exchange of a PCM telecommunication network
Abstract
In the case of a transmission of digital message signals in the form of message signal blocks that have a synchronization word, the first bit of which always maintains the same value, bits used for signaling and message signal blocks comprising at least two message signal words between a higher-level device, in particular a digital switching center of a PCM telecommunications network and a subordinate one Device, in particular a digital subscriber station on four-wire operated two-wire subscriber lines, block synchronization must be carried out in the subordinate device, whereby it is to be avoided that bit combinations, which are similar to the synchronization word but do not represent such a word, are not evaluated, and that a new synchronization is only carried out when the synchronization word has not been received several times. The circuit arrangement solves this task in that when the binary value 1 is found in the first of the bits that have entered a receive shift register (ES), a station counter (SZ) is in the initial state and then when the second bit also has binary value 1, an overframe counter (UZ), which defines the period of the alternating bit combinations of the synchronous word, is set to the initial state and then only those message signal blocks that are in the reception period defined in this way are recorded. If the correct occurrence of a correct synchronous word has been determined with the aid of a comparator (V) and a control counter (Z), the operating mode is switched from the synchronization phase to the synchronous operating phase, in which the control counter (Z) is used to determine whether the sequence has occurred several times the sync word does not appear at the expected time. In this case, resynchronization follows by setting the station counter (SZ) and superframe counter (UZ).
