Abstract

Abstract A photosensitive composite is provided for use in photosensitive lithographic printing plates which is a condensation product of sulfonylchloride of an o-benzoquinonediazid or o-naphthoquinonediazid and a polyhydric phenol resin possessing 3 or more units having the following general formula: where R, is a hydrogen atom or a hydroxyl group, R 2 is a hydrogen or halogen atom or an alkyl or alkoxy group having 1 to 4 carbon atoms, R 3 is a hydrogen atom, an alkyl group having 1 to4 carbon atoms, an aryl group of a substituted aryl group and R 4 is a hydrogen or halogen atom or an alkyl, alkoxy or nitro group.

Claim 1
Independent Claim 102 words
A composite characterised in that it is a condensation product of sulfonylchloride of an o-benzoquinonediazid or o-naphthoquinonediazid and a polyhydric phenol resin possessing 3 or more units having the following general formula: where R 1 is a hydrogen atom or a hydroxyl group, R 2 is a hydrogen or halogen atom or an alkyl or alkoxy group having 1 to 4 carbon atoms, R 3 is a hydrogen atom, an alkyl group having 1 to 4 carbon atoms, an aryl group or a substituted aryl group and R 4 is a hydrogen or halogen atom or an alkyl, alkoxy or nitro group.
Claim 2
Dependent Claim 102 words
Claim 3
Dependent Claim 26 words
A composite according to claim 1 characterised in that R 1 represents a hydrogen atom and R 2 represents a hydrogen atom or a methyl group.
Claim 4
Dependent Claim 25 words
A composite according to claim 1 characterised in that R 3 represents a hydrogen atom and R4 represents a hydrogen atom or a methyl group.
Claim 5
Dependent Claim 26 words
A composite according to any one of claims 1 to 3 characterised in that the molecular weight of the polyhydric phenol resin is 800 to 4000.
Claim 6
Dependent Claim 50 words
A composite according to any one of claims 1 to 4 characterised in that the molar ratio of the sulfonylchloride of o-benzoquinonediazid or o-naphthoquinonediazid to the polyhydric phenol -is 1:0.4 to 1:3 when R 1 is a hydroxy group or 1:0.4 to 1:2 when R 1 is a hydrogen atom.
Claim 7
Dependent Claim 63 words
A composite according to any one of claims 1 to 5 characterised in that it is a condensation product of sulfonylchloride of o-naphthoquinonediazid and a polyhydric phenol resin as defined in any one of claims 1 to 5 in which R 4 is a hydrogen or halogen atom or an alkyl or alkoxy group having 1 to 8.carbon atoms or a nitro group.
