Osteosynthetic plate
Abstract
Abstract The bone plate for osteosynthesis consists of a carbon fibre reinforced synthetic material, the carbon fibres (12) being arranged in layers. At the lower side (13) facing the bone there is a layer (14) of approximately 1 mm in thickness, which has few or no carbon fibres and therefore has a modulus of elasticity comparable to the bone or lower, the carbon fibre content increasing from layer to layer so that the plate at the upper side (15) has a modulus of elasticity comparable to that of conventional metal plates. In order to be able to shape the plate easily by means of a current of hot air, a thermoplastic synthetic material is used. <IMAGE>
