Ink ribbon drive, e.g. in a high-speed printer
Abstract
Driving, under constant tension, a ribbon of material diverting from a supply coil to a reception coil. The drive device according to the invention comprises a first inextensible belt (41) in contact with the periphery of a reception coil (13) receiving the ribbon (11.). The first belt (41) is driven at constant speed by a drive pulley (40) and drives the receiving coil (13) without slipping. The first belt (41) transmits its movement, via transmission means (49, 51, 60, 61), to a second inextensible belt (52), which is driven at a constant speed slightly lower than that of the first belt. The belt (52) is in contact with the periphery of the supply reel (12) and drives it without slipping. Device applicable in particular to the driving of ribbon reels in a printer.
