Vectors appropriate for the insertion in their genomes of fragments of foreign DNA, in each of the possible translational phases, and means for their preparation
Abstract
Set of vectors suitable for the insertion into their genomes of foreign DNA fragments, these vectors containing the promoter of the lactose operon and at least part of the Z gene, as well as a site such as EcoRl. One of the vectors differs from another vector in this game in that the location of the recognition site of the determined restriction enzyme is shifted in the second opposite that of this same site in the first, with respect to the point of initiation of the translation of the geneZ, by the intermediary of a group formed either of two base pairs (GG), or of four base pairs (GGGG). Application to the phasing of a foreign DNA fragment inserted into one of these vectors.
