Claims Analysis

Total Claims: 6
Claim 1
Independent Claim 105 words
Filtering apparatus in which at least one pair of flanged members (e.g. 40, 41) are interconnected by abutting their flanges (e.g. 47, 48) and holding these flanges together by clamping channel-shaped members having channel sides (e.g. 20, 21) shaped to embrace the abutting flanges (47, 48) and spaced apart sufficiently to engage the flanges and clamp the flanged members (40, 41) together, characterized in that each channel shaped member has locking means (e.g. 25, 26) intermeshing with mating locking means (e.g. 27, 28) of another channel-shaped member to form a snap-fit therewith and releasably lock the channel members together in such clamping and embracing position.
Claim 2
Dependent Claim 105 words
Claim 3
Dependent Claim 31 words
Filter apparatus according to claim 1, characterized in that at least one of said flanged members is integral with a filter cartridge or with another functional member of the filtering apparatus.
Claim 4
Dependent Claim 34 words
Filtering apparatus according to claim 1 or 2, characterized in that at least one of said flanged members is detachably connected to a filter cartridge or to another funcJonat member of the filtering apparatus.
Claim 5
Dependent Claim 40 words
Filtering apparatus according to any one of the preceding claims in which the intermeshing locking means (25, 26) of the channel members comprises a clamping tip and recess engaging respectively a recess and clamping tip of the mating locking means.
Claim 6
Dependent Claim 51 words
Filtering apparatus according to any one of the preceding claims in which the flanged members are keyed to maintain them in fixed relative positions with respect to each other and in which the key comprises lugs (53) on one flanged member engaging recesses (54, 57, 58) on the other flanged member.
