Abstract

Abstract In the novel process and apparatus for producing flat or blown plastic sheets with the aid of a main extruder (10) into which, downstream of the feed opening for the new material, edge and/or centre strips cut off from the sheet web obtained from the main extruder and other plastic wastes are introduced, the cut-off edge and/or centre strips and also the other plastic wastes are now fed in the plasticated state into the melting zone of the main extruder with the aid of a heatable back feed extruder (28). This considerably improves the quality of mixing, so that a satisfactory sheet quality is obtainable despite the use of wastes. <IMAGE>
