Abstract Translated from German Die Erfindung betrifft ein neues Verfahren zur Herstellung von Isocyanuratgruppen aufweisenden Polyisocyanaten auf Basis von Hexamethylendiisocyanat durch Trimerisierung eines Teils der Isocyanatgruppen von Hexamethylendiisocyanat in Gegenwart von quaternären Ammoniumhydroxiden als Katalysator und anschließende Abtrennung von überschüssigem, nicht umgesetztem Diisocyanat, wobei man als quaternäre Ammoniumhydroxide an Stickstoff Hydroxyalkyl-substituierte Ammoniumhydroxide verwendet, sowie die Verwendung der Verfahrensprodukte, gegebenenfalls in mit Blockierungsmitteln für Isocyanatgruppen blockierter Form als Isocyanatkomponente in Polyurethanlacken. The invention relates to a new process for the preparation of isocyanurate group-containing polyisocyanates based on hexamethylene diisocyanate by trimerizing part of the isocyanate groups of hexamethylene diisocyanate in the presence of quaternary ammonium hydroxides as a catalyst and subsequent removal of excess, unreacted diisocyanate, using hydroxyalkyl- as quaternary ammonium hydroxides. Substituted ammonium hydroxides are used, and the use of the process products, if appropriate in the form blocked with blocking agents for isocyanate groups, as the isocyanate component in polyurethane coatings.
