Abstract

Abstract The invention relates to dielectric ceramics with permittivities of at least a few hundred units, or even higher than 1,000. Its objective is to lower the sintering temperature in the case of a given composition, for example barium titanate. The ceramic comprises a polycrystalline phase, for example barium titanate, and an interstitial phase, the latter consisting essentially of a flux, that is to say a solid solution consisting of at least two oxides of the following substances: aluminium, bismuth, calcium, copper, germanium, manganese, lead, silicon and titanium. The quantity of flux initially incorporated in the mixture of raw materials represents from 0.3 to 3 mol%. A 2 to 4% excess of titanium is also useful. Application to capacitors of the "ceramic" type, especially multilayer.
