Process for the anodic oxidation of aluminium and its application as printing-plate substrate material
Abstract
The invention relates to a process for the anodic oxidation of strip, foil or plate-shaped material made of aluminum or its alloys in an aqueous electrolyte containing sulfuric acid and phosphoric acid; the material can also be mechanically, chemically or electrochemically roughened before the anodic oxidation is carried out. The anodic oxidation of the material takes place in an electrolyte with a concentration of sulfuric acid from 25 to 150 g / l, phosphoric acid from 10 to 50 g / and aluminum ions from 5 to 25 g / l, at a current density of 4 to 25 A / dm z and at a temperature of 25 ° to 65 ° C. The method is used in particular in the production of a strip, film or plate-shaped printing plate carrier material, after which these carrier materials can be coated with a photosensitive composition by the manufacturer of presensitized printing plates or by the consumer himself. These light-sensitive layers are optionally colored and preferably contain diazo compounds, diazoquinones, diazo mixed condensates or photopolymerizable compounds.
