Swimming pool

Claim 2

A swimming pool cf the type having a pair of end members, each with a pair of flanges defining a channel substantially the shape of the cross-section of the sides and bottom of the pool, and a sheet of flexible sheet material having its lateral edge portions engaged and sealed in the channel to form the sides and bottom of the pool, wherein: each of the end members is of sheet material, the side and bottom edge portions of each end member are engaged in a longitudinal groove of a flexible junction strip, securing means are provided for securing and sealing the side and bottom edge portions of each end member in the groove, and the said flanges are formed integrally with the said junction strip and are substantially perpendicular to the groove.

Claim 3

A swimming pool according to Claim 1 wherein: the securing means includes a flexible wedging strip driven between the outer face of the side and bottom edge portions of each end member and the outer side of the groove of the junction strip, and longitudinal serrations are formed in the inner side of the groove of the junction strip.

Claim 4

A swimming pool according to either of the preceding claims wherein: an opening is formed from the top of one of the end there is provided a wading pool end member of sheet material of substantially similar shape to the said opening, the side and bottom edge portions of the opening are secured and sealed in a longitudinal groove of an inner wading pool junction strip having a pair of parallel outwardly extending integral longitudinal flanges substantially perpendicular to the groove of the inner wading pool junction strip. the side and bottom edge portions of the wading pool end member are secured and sealed in a longitudinal groove of an outer wading pool junction strip having a pair of parallel inwardly extending integral longitudinal flanges substantially perpendicular to the groove of the outer wading pool junction strip, and a wading pool side and bottom member of flexible sheet material has its lateral edge portions engaged and sealed between the parallel flanges of the inner wading pool junction strip and of the outer wading pool junction strip to form the sides and bottom of a wading pool.

Claim 5

A swimming pool according to any one of the preceding claims wherein: at least one of the end members and the flexible junction strip secured to its side and bottom edge portions are formed with a central outwardly bowed portion.

A swimming pool according to any one of the preceding claims wherein: one of the end members is of lesser depth than the other, the bottom of the pool inclining downwardly from the one end member to the other,

A swimming pool according to any one of Claims 1 to 5 wherein: both end members are of similar shape and of greater depth at one side than at the other side, and the width of the end members is greater than the length of the sheet of resilient flexible material forming the sides and bottom of the pool.
