BUILDING ELEMENT, NECESSARY FOR ESTABLISHING ROOF LIGHTING
Abstract
Abstract To create a continuous skylight, for example in the form of a roof ridge, it is known to use shaped dome elements or webs of flexible plastic which are connected firmly to parallel battens. In both cases, mounting is difficult. The invention renders mounting considerably easier by virtue of the fact that the element is in the form of a web or strip of flexible plastic sheet 2, the longitudinal edges of which are secured in an edge rabbet 14 on the respective edge flanges which are in the form of a profiled thin sheet part 4 projecting on one side. In this way, the element can be mounted in a simple manner from inside, by connecting the edge flanges 4 firmly to the sides of the battens 22. The element is easy to produce in the workshop and easy to transport, and the edges of the sheet strip are well protected in said rabbets. <IMAGE>
