Abstract

Abstract The blade changing equipment for surgical scalpels has a housing with insertion opening for the scalpel with detachable blade. Means are provided to thrust the handle end of the blade away from the scalpel and to the blade temporarily as the handle portion is extracted. The housing (10) has a passage (15) extending from the insertion opening (19) and accommodating the front part (2) of the scalpel with blade (3), forming a bottom surface supporting it with a raised stop for the end of the displaced blade. On the top of the housing is a press button (23) thrusting the blade end out of its mounting in the scalpel. USE/ADVANTAGE - Blade changing equipment for surgical scalpels is simple and gives absolutely safe operation.
