Abstract

Abstract In order to ensure that the flashing warning light for breakdowns is continuously ready for use, the said warning light and a removable working lamp are equipped with batteries which are continuously connected to the electric system of a motor vehicle when inserted into a holder which can be permanently mounted, and as a result are charged, additionally the holder is a secure place of storage so that when the light is required it is no longer necessary to search for it. In order to protect the person carrying the lamp from vehicles travelling behind on the way to the location of a vehicle, the flashing warning light for breakdowns switches on automatically after it is removed from the holder. The working lamp can be removed from the housing of the flashing warning light for breakdowns in order to ensure simultaneously the functions of "safeguarding the location of the breakdown" and "illuminating the work location". Electric contacts which conduct the charge current from the electrical system of a motor vehicle via further contacts to the accumulators are provided in the holder.
