Abstract
Abstract For monitoring a patient for cardiac and circulatory arrest a monitoring apparatus is strapped around the thorax of the patient, the apparatus having a pressure-sensitive sensor which records the breathing movements of the patient. The output signals of the sensor are integrated and the amplitude mean thus formed is compared with a comparison value. If there is cessation of breathing due to cardiac or circulatory arrest the value falls below this comparison value and an alarm signal is triggered.
