Phase-locked loop
Abstract
Abstract A phase-locked loop having fast control, in the case of which the entire control variable is digitally stored in the event of interruption of the reference variable, has associated with it the disadvantage that the control variable is changed, before being stored, in an interfering manner by the interruption process. The voltage-controlled oscillator of the phase-locked loop thus continues to oscillate during the interruption of the reference variable at a frequency which under some circumstances may be considerably different. In order to overcome this disadvantage, a phase-locked loop is proposed in the case of which the control variable is broken down into a slowly changing mean value and a rapidly changing component. During interference-free operation, both components are used for control. In the event of an interruption in the reference variable, only the mean value of the control variable is digitally stored, since it is not influenced by the interruption process.
